Distance Learning Initiatives

An infraNET Project

The University of Waterloo is developing programs and mechanisms to make the creation and production of distance-learning materials more efficient using multi-media, database, and Internet-related software provided by several partners in the infraNET Project. Simultaneously, we are creating the infrastructure to improve access to these educational materials through relationships with software companies, publishing houses and client companies. (Clients are those that use distance learning or multi-media processes for in-house training or education). Waterloo is presently a leader in distance learning activities in North America and these initiatives are designed to maintain and enhance that position.
