Building Web Sites from Legacy Systems
An infraNET Project
Many organizations have existing or
legacy computer systems to store and provide information to various
client groups, and making this information accessible often requires
the development of special reporting systems. With the advent of the
World-Wide Web and Web browsers, the creation of user interfaces for
reports from these legacy systems is simplified, although far from
complete. Research is in progress to investigate tools and mechanisms
to make these legacy systems more accessible through the World-Wide
Web. In doing so, information can still be housed in the most appropriate system,
duplication of information is avoided, and time to maintain and present the information
should be minimized.
