Employment and Training Community
Learning Space Project
An infraNET Project
This Internet-based project will combine computer technologies,
employment and training service provider information and community building
strategies to assess, and create a sustainable employment and training community
learning space. Enabling technologies and processes can create and sustain
a community learning space that would link individuals with information about
employment and training service providers quickly and easily. The Waterloo Information
Network (WIN) or its successors will be the foundation of the community
employment and training learning space. Based on WIN technology, this information
will be accessible from home, businesses, government offices, agencies,
libraries, resource centres and community access points. A major goal is
to make the technology replicable and sustainable.
This project is a joint undertaking by the University
of Waterloo and the Social Planning Council of Kitchener-Waterloo and is
supported by Human Resources Development Canada (HRDC) - Kitchener office.
